Broadcast Live Video on the Internet (free)

Sunday, October 26th, 2008

I’ve been using MogulusLivestream, a live broadcasting application that makes it super easy to produce and distribute your own online television channel. Plus, it makes it easy to place video on your website, and other websites. How is this different than using YouTube? It’s different because you have the choice to stream live video or upload pre-recorded video, you can use your own branding, and you can set it on auto-pilot when not broadcasting live. Your channel can then be embedded into other websites using the Mogulus Livestream video widget, and you can also make your videos available on-demand, with the option of allowing visitors to chat. Setting this up is rather simple and you can literally be up and running live video in minutes.

You can see an example of a MogulusLivestream channel here. This is SOC-TV : INDEPENDENT MAGICIANS NETWORK, which seems to be a popular channel. Click here to view the same channel as a widget in its own website.

I found the MogulusLivestream service while searching for an application that would allow me to webcast a live event. I liked that it makes it simple and easy for anyone to do this and that it’s free to use with all standard features. Here are a few examples where you would use MogulusLivestream:

* To broadcast a wedding for family and friends that can’t make it.
* Business meetings with partners in other cities or even countries.
* As a film student’s portfolio.
* Non-profits looking to broadcast press conferences and events.
* Your own local news channel.

Minimum requirements to use MogulusLivestream to broadcast live video:
Computer
Internet Connection
Webcam
Microphone (internal or external)
